Über mich

  • Oto "Joeboy" Joseph believes the pedigree of Malawi’s
Israel Kammwamba cannot intimidate him ahead of the
12th GOtv Boxing Night Independence Day fiesta. Joeboy will fight the Malawian in a Commonwealth African Lightweight bout.

thecommonwealth.orgThe undefeated Joeboy has had eight bouts since turning pro in 2015 and he is
reluctant to search the records of his opponent, saying he hopes
to do the talking in the ring. "I don’t want to know anything about my opponent because in boxing, records don’t win fight and for me, it is inside the ring that we will know the best between us. The only thing I know about my opponent is that he is a Malawian and for me I am ready to battle with any opponent so far as we are both fighting for the same title. I am ready to take him on as I am shaping up for the counter with the hope to continue my unbeaten run," Joeboy said.

With four knockouts from his eight professional fights,
Joeboy says he is eagerly looking forward to the bout as he cannot wait to get back into
the ring after his last fight in March for the vacant
West African Boxing Union Lightweight Title against Ghana’s Ayittey Mettle,
    which he won by knockout.

"I have no other work than boxing and I know that my ability will see me through. I have increased the intensity of my training to ensure that I am in superb form for the encounter," he
    added.

Joeboy is a boxer under the stable of WEO ALLSPORTS and the Chairman of the sports management firm, Wahid Oshodi has
promised that the boxer will be supported in his quest to conquer Africa.

Joeboy’s opponent is Israel Kammwamba of Malawi, who also has had nine bouts with eight knockouts and one
draw since turning pro in 2016. The 23-year-old Blantyre-based pugilist,
who is known as Money Machine, will be aiming for the title,
as well as retain his unbeaten record in his ninth professional bout away from home.
