Another Boko Haram Suspect Arrested In Ondo

Barely a week after a Boko Haram suspect was arrested at Isua in Akoko South East Local Government Area of Ondo State, another suspected member of the sect was confirmed to have been arrested by men of the state Police Command.

Ibrahim Idris Abawo, popularly known as Idiko, who was on number 165 on the wanted list of the Boko Haram suspects, was arrested in the same area.

The suspect, identified as Mohammed Basha, was arrested in the same Isua Akoko area of the state according to the police command.

The Public Relations Officer of the command, Mr. Femi Joseph, said the suspect was arrested while he was loitering on Isua-Ifira Akoko road by the men of the anti-crime patrol of the command.

"When the suspect was arrested, he was interrogated and confessed that he was a member of the Boko Haram sect. He said his father is from Niger Republic while his mother is from Maiduguri in Borno State.

"He said when Maiduguri was hot for him, he ran to Nassarawa State last month and he left the state last Saturday and came down to the South-west to hide here.

"He also confessed that one Daffo is his team leader while Shekau is still the overall leader of the group," he stated.

Joseph said some items suspected to be charms were recovered from him. He added that the suspect was still in the protective custody of the command for further enquiry.
